Here we are in the first week of August, already!! For years now, I've equated August with December. It's the mad rush to get everything ready for the new school year. Most years, I'm bombarded with moms bringing their kids in for that proper school haircut. No more mohawks, cut off the bleached tips, cut the hair above the collar, and neatly around the ears. The pictures, orientation, clothes shopping, school supply lists, soccer practice, cheer camp, football practice...on and on and on. It's exciting chaos! I always wondered if I would experience that. After all, I had no intentions of putting my child in public or private school.

The '08-'09 school year was great. I was scared and unsure, but willing and excited. Totally excited to move forward on a journey that once seemed SO far off. This school year is already starting to get exciting. I received the rest of my Amazon shipment today...yay! I picked up a chore chart, and a journal for Kai as well. The back to school signs are up everywhere. Sales galore!! I'm getting our classroom together...and will post more about that later, with pictures. I've been working on lesson plans, and making meal menus for the upcoming months. Life is going to be a bit more hectic, so I need as much organization as possible.

Kai started soccer practice this week. We are SO proud of his performance on the field. I think he's a natural! Beau signed up to be the Assistant Coach. I volunteered for the picnic coordinator and to be the co-team mom. I'm just hoping that I haven't piled my plate too high...eek!
